I interviewed for a job at a restaurant a while ago, and today I am reading about the restaurant’s chef/owner being accused of sexual harassement by two dozen employees. It’s disgusting. It makes me think of how many instances of sexual harassement I repress on a daily basis at my current work place, in order to get through the day. People feel the need to comment on my appearance and my body, call me things like “babe”, look me up and down, try to touch me, all because I am female. The restaurant industry, as much interest as I have in it, is mostly a male dominated, vile environment.
